A Special Thank You, from President Bob Schaab.

It takes a lot of volunteers and caring neighbors to make South Wayne a great place to live. I wanted to take a minute and thank all of those persons who support the neighborhood and the Association throughout the year.

First, I want to thank the association board members, chairpersons and newsletter editor. These people put in many hours organizing events, working with city leaders to make improvements in the neighborhood and working with our neighboring associations for the neighborhoods best interest.

Thank you to the block  captains for their service in delivering the newsletters every month and providing us with up to date block information.

Thanks to the 50 households and 13 businesses that support the association  by paying dues making it  possible to print a newsletter for all residents, provide a web site, sponsor events like the Christmas Party, Association Garage Sale, Dirt Day & Movie Night and hold two clean up events for the benefit of all neighbors.

A special thanks to those neighbors who work on the sponsored events, who help their neighbors keep leaves out of the sewer grates and street, who shovel or clean a neighbors walk and who offer helping hands to neighbors in need.

This is what makes living in South Wayne special.

New Teenage Driving Law:

A new state law, effective July 1st, prohibits anyone under the age of 18 to text or talk on a cell phone while behind the wheel. (including hands free, or speakerphone) The new law also states once a passenger is allowed in the car, they can't use speakerphone while a teen is driving. In plain English No Cell Phones us while driving!

Teens also won't be allowed to drive between 10 p.m. and 5 a.m. for six months after they get their license.
