All neighbors are welcome to come and participate in making suggestions and setting our plans for 2010.
We need your ideas and help on the committees. The plan for the meeting is to decide what events and types of projects we want to undertake for 2010. Committees will be formed to present ideas at future meetings.

Community Garden Update, From Jane Ford:

Hi all

We will be making plans in preparation for planting by mid-May. I know it seems early, but it is important to begin the process especially since this will be our first year and there is much to do. Most gardens begin in the mind, then those ideas are transferred to paper, then finally, they become a reality when it is time to plant. There are many things to consider before mid-May so we do want to be ready and we want a committed group of people who are enthused and ready to begin doing the work necessary to get this project on the ground. Many of our people already have a lot of experience, but just as many want to know how to do these things and this first year will teach valuable lessons on how to be the gardener you've always wanted to be.

Master Gardeners are going to be teaching gardening classes during these months prior to planting time and will be at this meeting to share with you what you can expect to learn. You can at that time suggest classes that would help your gardening experience. We can add those to our curriculum. These classes will be free so take advantage of them. We will be putting together class schedules that will be evenings and/or Saturdays between now and May and will be held at the South Wayne Elementary School. Schedules for these classes will either be emailed to you or can be snail-mailed to anyone who does not have internet access.

Please encourage neighbors and friends in the PAPA area to join you in attending this informational planning meeting. We look forward to seeing you. Please come to the front double door(s) on Cottage Avenue. There is a buzzer and call box to the left of the doors. You are welcome to park in the parking lot at the back of the school or on the street. (Cottage is one-way going west).

Neighborhood leaders, etc: Please mention this planning meeting in your neighborhood newsletters if you are publishing a January issue.

Thanks - and let's make this community garden one of the best in Fort Wayne.
